HBCU DJ Self Directs Documentary on Howard University DJ Culture

It’s always a beautiful thing when there is positive content created for us by us. Howard University Graduate, DJ Magic Ledbetter, just released her very own documentary In The Mix, which brings us into the world of one of the most important components of any celebration, the DJ. It follows the stories of over 20 years of DJs at one university, their impact on the industry, and the world around them. Inspired by that group, Ledbetter shows this legacy, how she got in, and how it connects them all.

Ledbetter is a DJ, member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and recent graduate of Howard University Class of 2020. As director, cinematographer, editor, and composer, Ledbetter spearheaded this project during her senior year at Howard and released the documentary on the day of commencement as a farewell to her beloved University.

Featuring stars such as DJ Chubb E. Swagg (former DJ for Nipsey Hussle), Jae Murphy (DJ for Jason Derulo), and Chase B (DJ for Travis Scott), this inspiring story has already garnered over 28,000 views across all social media platforms.
