Atlanta Greek Picnic 2024: Celebrating Two Decades of Greek Unity and Culture

The Atlanta Greek Picnic (AGP) marked its 20th anniversary this past weekend, continuing its legacy as the largest Greek picnic in the country. From June 25th to June 30th, Atlanta was filled with thousands of members from Black Greek Lettered Organizations (aka the Divine Nine,) for various activities, leading up to the main event on Saturday, June 29th, held at Morris Brown College.

The week-long celebration kicked off on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024 with a series of mixers, community service events, and educational workshops designed to foster networking, leadership, and camaraderie among the D9 organizations. As the week progressed, the anticipation built up to the highly-anticipated Block Party on Thursday night, which featured performances from  Fabo and Lil Ru, who had the crowd rocking to classic stroll hits such as Nasty Song and Geeked Up

The main event on Saturday, June 29th, was held on the historic campus of Morris Brown College, which featured a stroll competition, vendors and good vibes hosted by comedian and Kappa Alpha Psi member BenDaDonnn. Atlanta music legend Roscoe Dash also came out to rock the stage with some of his classic hits such as No Hands and All the Way Turnt Up

A new addition to this year’s AGP was the inaugural Alumni Greek Picnic held on Sunday. This event was specifically designed for college alumni who are members of the D9 organizations. It provided an opportunity for networking, and nostalgic fun , featuring music from the eras of the first two decades of AGP. This event also featured another guest performance from Fabo and Lil Ru.

The Legacy of AGP

The Atlanta Greek Picnic was founded by Tiwa, a member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, with the vision of creating a space for D9 members to come together and celebrate their shared heritage and achievements. Over the past two decades, AGP has grown into a major event, drawing participants from across the country and becoming a cornerstone of Greek life.
