Viola Davis Inspires HBCU Students at Roundtable for New Movie ‘G20’

The power of HBCUs was on full display during the Prime Video G20 press run.

Students from prestigious institutions like Spelman College, Norfolk State University, Howard University, and Hampton University were able to interview Viola Davis and Julius Tennon.

Viola Davis stars in G20 as Danielle Sutton, the President of the United States. Her world is turned upside down when the G20 summit is attacked, making her the primary target. After narrowly escaping the initial assault, the true battle begins as Danielle must outsmart her enemies to protect her family, defend her country, and ensure the safety of world leaders.

During the roundtable discussion, themes of HBCU pride, love, and motivation were shared with the students. One powerful moment came when Viola Davis delivered an inspiring message to HBCU students.

She spoke about the importance of the journey, emphasizing that it’s the process—both the challenges and triumphs—that shapes who we become.
