HBCUs Take the Spotlight in Recent Jeopardy! Episode

In a recent episode of Jeopardy!, HBCUs were spotlighted during a special category that highlighted the history and traditions of these institutions. The category featured questions about various HBCUs, and schools like Morehouse College, with questions quickly answered by FAMU (Florida A&M University) alum, Roy Wood Jr.

One particularly memorable question referred to Howard University, asking contestants to identify the D.C. school tied to a famous call-and-response tradition among its alumni.

The clue read:

“Need to locate an alum of this revered D.C. school? Just shout out ‘H-U!’; any Bison who hears you will shout back, ‘You know!'”

The answer, of course, was Howard University, home of the beloved Bison mascot. The iconic “H-U! You Know!” chant is a staple of Howard’s proud legacy.

This episode of Jeopardy! served as a reminder of the importance of HBCUs in every aspect of the world.
