Beauty and Brains: The Brand Yo(U) Conference Takes Over Hampton University

Hampton University hosted the much-anticipated Brand Yo(U) Conference. This empowering event, designed specifically for collegiate women of color, offered an experience focused on beauty, entrepreneurship, professional development, and mental wellness through a combination of workshops, keynote speakers, and networking opportunities.

The theme of this year’s conference, “The Ultimate It Girl,” encouraged participants to embrace their full potential and leave feeling empowered and confident. Brand Yo(U) was more than just an event; it was a movement designed to uplift and inspire a new generation of women leaders.The conference was led by two powerful women: Amber Anderson, Hampton University alumna and founder of Black Is Gold, and Ebony Karim, the founder of Beauty Genie, the viral vending machine stocked with beauty essentials for every need.

Throughout the event, attendees had the chance to engage in a series of interactive panels featuring industry leaders, and successful entrepreneurs. One of the highlights of the event was the mentorship opportunities. Participants were able to connect directly with women in their fields, gaining invaluable advice and forming relationships that could last well beyond the conference. 

The Brand Yo(U) Conference was a celebration of the power, strength, and brilliance of Black women in college. It not only provided them with the tools to succeed but also reinforced the importance of self-love, confidence, and community.
