From Howard to ‘The Chi’: Phylicia Rashad and Wendy Raquel Robinson Join the Hit Series

The Chi is turning the spotlight toward womanhood and power like never before,
With some familiar HBCU alums joining the cast for its latest season.


Howard University’s own Phylicia Rashad and Wendy Raquel Robinson are stepping
into guest star roles, and fans couldn’t be more excited.


Rashad, who continues to show her incredible range with recent performances in For
Colored Girls and The Beekeeper
will portray Renee, Meanwhile, Robinson will
bring depth and heart to Riley Dalton, a woman shaped by grief but grounded in
wisdom and strength in the latest season.


Both Rashad and Robinson are proud graduates of Howard University. Phylicia
Rashad earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) magna cum laude in 1970 and has
received multiple honorary doctorates honoring her contributions to the arts. Wendy
Raquel Robinson (BFA’89) is an Emmy Award-winning actress and producer who
promotes HBCUs in everything she does.


Together, these two Bison are continuing to honor the legacy of HBCUs on the screen
and off the screen.


This newest season of The Chi is set to premiere on May 16th on Paramount+ and
Showtime
