Black Greek Excellence: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Member La’Torria Lemon

For over a century, Black Greek Letter Organizations (BGLOs) have cultivated a legacy of scholarship, leadership, and service—producing trailblazers in every field imaginable. From education and business to healthcare and entertainment, members of the Divine Nine (D9) continue to uphold the values their organizations were founded on, proving that Greek life is about far more than strolls and step shows.

In our Black Greek Excellence: Educated & Impactful series, we highlight HBCU alumni who are D9 members excelling in their careers while making a lasting impact in their communities. These individuals embody the true essence of Black Greek leadership, using their platforms to uplift, empower, and inspire.

Each feature will introduce you to a new D9 professional, sharing their journey from college to career, how their organization shaped them, and the impact they’re making today. Their stories are a testament to what it truly means to wear these letters with purpose.
