The weekend officially began with an exclusive sponsor appreciation event on April 30 before opening to the public on May 1 with the annual golf tournament at Chapel Hills Golf Club. Later that evening, attendees gathered at Guardian Works for the kickoff concert presented by Cutwater Spirits, featuring platinum-selling R&B artist Jon B as the headliner.

The signature Derby watch party returned to Guardian Works on May 2, featuring live entertainment, networking opportunities, fashion moments, and community recognition. Guests also enjoyed the event’s popular Best Hat Contest, which has become a staple of the Derby-themed experience.

Several public officials and community leaders participated in this year’s festivities, including Andre Dickens, Byron Amos, Sherri Washington, and Demond Mason, highlighting the event’s growing impact throughout the metro Atlanta community.

The weekend concluded with the Unity Brunch at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead, where attendees learned more about the mission behind AlphaDerbyWeekend™ and the organization’s commitment to community investment and youth empowerment.
