Morgan State University Becomes the First HBCU to Receive Endorsement By Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) for Accounting Program

Morgan State University is welcomed by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), one of the most prominent and highly valued associations focused wholly on improving the management accounting profession, as the first HBCU to earn endorsement of its accounting program. IMA’s Certification of Higher Education initiative identifies courses with high educational values, empowering scholars to pursue and earn the Certified Management Accountant (CMA®) credential. The following are criteria to be met by schools to qualify for the IMA endorsement:

1. A faculty member must be elected as an IMA Campus Advocate.

2. The course must considerably cover the CMA examination content.

3. The program must be accredited by a recognized accreditation organization 

4. The program must have adequate facility resources to offer this content.
