Rapper and Texas Southern University alum Megan Thee Stallion is serving up more than bars; she’s serving fried chicken with her new business venture.
The HBCU graduate has announced that she officially owns her first Popeyes franchise location, now open in South Beach, Miami. To celebrate the milestone, the Grammy Award–winning artist surprised employees at the restaurant in a now-viral video, sharing her excitement in person.
“This gon’ be the best experience for me. I hope it’s gon be a great experience for y’all, ’cause I’mma be coming up in here, acting a fool, and trying to see what y’all got going on,”
Megan said while on site.
Take a look:
The franchise ownership builds on her previous successful partnership with Popeyes, which introduced the fan-favorite “Megan Thee Stallion Hottie Sauce.”
Megan is no stranger to the business world. Her ventures extend far beyond music, including her tequila brand Chicas Divertidas, Fashion Nova collaborations, major brand endorsements, and full management of her career through Hot Girl Enterprises.
In 2021, Megan graduated from Texas Southern University with a bachelor’s degree in Health Administration. Since then, she has continued to give back by establishing scholarships, supporting her alma mater, and inspiring others through her education journey.
This latest move further highlights the power, influence, and entrepreneurial mindset of an HBCU alum who continues to expand her legacy beyond the yard.
