NIKE x SNIPES Take Over Norfolk State University for HBCU-Inspired Air Max Collaboration

One thing about an HBCU, they know how to come together.

This time, Norfolk State University united alumni, students, faculty, and staff as Nike and SNIPES brought their highly anticipated HBCU-inspired Air Max collaboration to campus.

The day kicked off with an inspiring panel featuring notable HBCU alumni, including entertainment host Chasity Saunders, Devon Henry, former Rector of Norfolk State University, celebrity stylist Dex Rob, and former NBA player Kyle O’Quinn. Together, they shared stories about their experiences at HBCUs and what their alma mater means to them.

Throughout the day, the campus was filled with energy as students enjoyed games, giveaways, and special activities celebrating HBCU pride. The grand finale came when DMV rapper Nino Paid hit the stage rocking the exclusive Norfolk State University Air Max sneakers, performing some of his biggest hits to a hyped-up crowd.

Nike shared what shoe lovers can expect in the new shoe:

“Expect bold Air Max 95 colorways in tribute to some of America’s most historic colleges. That means we can look forward to shoes in the FAMU Rattlers’ green and orange, the Morehouse Maroon Tigers’ maroon and white, and the Norfolk State Spartans’ green and gold.”

Norfolk State wasn’t the only school to receive exclusive designs; other HBCUs, including Florida A&M University and Morehouse College, are also featured in Nike’s Air Max 95 HBCU Pack. The collection officially drops on October 11, with prices ranging from $180 to $220.
