Favorite go-to food spot near campus?

My go-to food spot near campus is Chick-fil-A—specifically the fruit parfaits with granola and honey.

Favorite music genre or sound to choreograph to?

My favorite music genre is R&B, but when it comes to choreography, it’s a tie between highly rhythmic music (similar to Afrobeats) and classical music. I especially enjoy working with violin and piano compositions.

Favorite dance style to teach?

My favorite dance style to teach is jazz because of its roots in African dance. I appreciate how it blends the structure of ballet with African movement qualities and is deeply grounded in musicality.

Favorite performance moment with your teams?

One of my favorite moments from 2024 was the “Is It a Crime” stand routine and the “Give It to Me Baby” field show with the Honeybeez. In 2025, my favorite moment was the “Toxic” field show—I loved how beautifully the Honeybeez performed at MCC last year.

Favorite part about leading two HBCU dance teams?

My favorite part of leading two HBCU dance teams is the relationships I build with my girls and witnessing their growth both on and off the court. I value the opportunity to mentor them and support their development beyond performance.

Favorite band song to dance to in the stands?

“Whoop That” is definitely my favorite band song in the stands.

Favorite tradition or ritual before performances?

We always begin with prayer, and each team and captain also has their own special traditions that they share with their dancers.

Favorite lesson dance has taught you about life?

Dance has taught me many lessons, but the most important has been understanding that anything worth having requires consistent hard work and dedication. That mindset influences how I approach challenges in all areas of my life.

Favorite way to unwind outside of dance?

My favorite way to unwind is a warm bath and Netflix. After long, demanding days, I value quiet moments at home that allow me to relax and reset.

Favorite thing people would be surprised to learn about you?

People are often surprised to learn how grounded and personable I am. While my appearance may project a certain image, I am genuinely kind, optimistic, and value authentic connections while maintaining a sense of balance and approachability.
